The lead acid battery is the oldest type of rechargeable battery, and was invented in 1859 by French physicist Gaston Plante. In these batteries electrical energy can be stored as chemical energy and this chemical energy is then converted into electrical energy as and when required. The conversion of chemical energy into electric energy by supplying of external load is known as discharging of batteries, whereas the conversion of electrical energy into chemical energy by external electrical source is known as charging of battery. Lead acid batteries are made out of a Lead-dioxide cathode, a spongy metallic lead anode and a sulfuric acid solution electrolyte. The substantial metal component makes them poisonous and discreditable transfer can be dangerous to nature. The hypothetical voltage of these batteries is 12 V for 6 cages and 2 V for one cage.
